Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in event operations, live event logistics, or trade show management
- Proven track record of scaling live events from launch to national or international expansion
- Experience managing sponsorships, vendor negotiations, and exhibitor sales
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple large-scale events while maintaining operational efficiency
- Exceptional problem-solving and improvisation skills — because live events never go 100% according to plan
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build and manage a high-performing event operations team
- Background in trade shows, conventions, sports, or large-scale consumer events is highly preferred
- Willingness to travel frequently to launch and oversee events nationwide
What the job involves
- As the Events Operations Manager, you will be responsible for launching, scaling, and managing Arena Club’s own card shows, expanding our in-person presence across the U.S. and internationally
- This is a critical role in driving community engagement, growing our marketplace, and making Arena Club the go-to name in live sports card events
- This is a high-impact, high-energy role for a strategic, operations-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments
- As the Events Operations Manager, you will lead the launch and growth of Arena Club’s card show presence—from local events to large-scale national and international conventions
- This role requires a deep understanding of event logistics, vendor management, sponsorships, and exhibitor sales
- You’ll be the architect behind every Arena Club event, ensuring seamless execution and an unforgettable experience for attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors
- Lead the strategy and execution of Arena Club’s live events, starting with launching our own flagship card shows across major U.S. cities
- Develop and scale event logistics, including venue selection, vendor partnerships, exhibitor coordination, and on-site operations
- Build and manage a team responsible for sponsorship sales, vendor partnerships, and exhibitor relations to maximize event profitability and engagement
- Ensure seamless event execution, from ticketing and attendee experience to security, setup, and teardown
- Optimize event operations through data-driven decision-making, continually refining logistics processes to scale events efficiently
- Forge strategic partnerships with key industry players, sponsors, and exhibitors to drive attendance, revenue, and brand impact
- Innovate and enhance the collector experience by integrating new technologies and unique activations, making Arena Club’s shows a must-attend event
Our take
Co-founded by baseball Hall of Fame awardee Derek Jeter, Arena Club was established in 2021 and certainly has a lot of publicity behind it within the sports community. Rightly so, following the trend of physical businesses moving to digital, Arena Club is transforming the way that trading cards are evaluated and traded within the hobby's community.
NFTs, on-chain valuations, and digital collector showrooms abound, Arena Club received substantial Series A funding in December 22 and will use it to grow its employees and add functionality to its platform.
Arena Club’s Beta success is thanks to the savvy melding of sports talent backing and machine learning technology, allowing for cards to be graded virtually for inclusion and sale on the website. The company is well set to see success, being set within a market estimated to grow by $6.7 billion between 2022 and 2026.
