Role
Who you are
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional front-end development experience specializing in React and Javascript/TypeScript, demonstrating a record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and user-focused applications
- Expert proficiency building reusable components, managing component libraries, and optimizing performance using modern front-end tools and frameworks
- Demonstrated expertise in data visualisation components using D3.js (or similar), and creating engaging, scalable features with AMCharts or similar charting libraries
- A passion for crafting intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling user interfaces and features, with a deep understanding of web development principles such as responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility standards
- Proficiency in testing frameworks and libraries, such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress, with a commitment to maintaining high code quality and robustness
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with backend engineers, designers, and product teams to ensure the seamless delivery of user experiences
- Please note, ExTrac provides services to a number of different government clients, some of which specify nationality criteria for individuals seeking security clearance. Given this, we can only consider applications from individuals who hold a passport from the UK, another NATO member state, Australia or New Zealand
What the job involves
- Drive the development of scalable, high-performance front-end components and features using React and TypeScript, ensuring exceptional user experiences across all interfaces
- Build and maintain interactive data visualisation features using D3.js and AMCharts, enabling users to explore and analyze complex datasets effectively
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend engineers, to translate requirements into technical specifications and high-quality implementations
- Lead by example through code reviews, mentoring, and advocating for best practices, ensuring maintainable and reusable component libraries and a consistent design system
- Optimize the performance of web applications through advanced techniques like lazy loading, code splitting, and performance monitoring
- Stay at the forefront of front-end technologies, evaluating and adopting emerging frameworks and methodologies to continuously improve our tech stack
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that adheres to modern development standards while guiding the team in applying the latest front-end innovations
