Who you are
- Have 4+ years of experience developing the frontend infrastructure that enables products to be built
- Emphasis on JavaScript / TypeScript
- Have experience working in a frontend infrastructure role
- Thrive in a technical leadership role on an engineering team, and are constantly seeking opportunities to encourage those around you to excel
- Like to work closely with other engineers to understand their developer experience problems, iteratively collecting feedback
- Have a good understanding of current and emerging trends in web application development
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a senior engineer to help build the systems that enable our product engineers to succeed
- You will be responsible for the workflows for the entire engineering team, ensuring everyone standardizes on the same tooling with scalability, testability, maintainability and robustness in mind
- You will be making decisions on what state management libraries, graphql data fetching libraries, micro-frontend architecture, and shared state management systems we use
- You will be responsible for driving the execution of these decisions to make sure we achieve 100% adoption in the org, with the support of the team
- Create & maintain high level design & documentation about our frontend architecture, showing how all the pieces come together with detailed deep dives in key areas
- Collaboratively curate a series of frontend standards and guidelines, building a migration plan to reach eventual adoption and ensure in code reviews they are followed, and ultimately executing on that plan
- Participate in engineering discussions and mentor others on engineering best practices
- Identify key areas of optimization to increase application performance
- Evaluate new frameworks and tools, setting our technical direction and push towards standardization
- Mentor other engineers in best practices, training them to have an outsized impact on the codebase
- Evangelize the work, sharing in large all-hands meetings changes proposed and measured success metrics

Amplitude provides product analytics to help companies understand user behaviour. Product, marketing, and growth teams use Amplitude to discover and share insights about user engagement, retention, and revenue.
Amplitude’s user flows reveal which actions are the most commonly taken after users sign up, and which usually precede purchases made in-app, creating paths through the app. The behaviour of individual app users can be viewed with unlimited real-time activity feeds and user timelines.
Thousands of companies use Amplitude analytics including Microsoft, Under Armour, Intuit, Twitter, Bonobos, Peloton, and many more. In 2024, a securities fraud case was filed against Amplitude due to an IPO and stock share rise that was alleged to be artificially inflated before their downturn in 2022. Whilst this case is ongoing, Amplitude is still releasing new products and operating at full capacity.
