Who you are
- Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Motion Design or equivalent
- Portfolio demonstrating a strong familiarity with grid-based compositions, the ability to transform complex ideas into compelling visual narratives, and a refined stylistic point of view
- Understanding of design fundamentals: form, color, composition, typography
- Technical fluency in software of choice (Adobe Suite + After Effects, Cinema4D for example)
- A reliable self-starter, highly organized, resourceful, with attention to detail
- A team player who is highly collaborative with the ability to handle complex projects
- Must work on-site at HQ (Costa Mesa, CA)
What the job involves
- The Design Team leads Anduril’s brand identity, visual communication, film, concept art, and industrial design. Our team’s purpose is connecting the mission, people, and products to elevate the Anduril brand
- As a Motion Design (Social) Intern, you will help develop and deploy the kinetic visual language for the Anduril brand across digital platforms and activations. You’ll be responsible for expressing the look and feel of our identity by rapidly iterating on ideas, addressing points of feedback, and executing compelling visual solutions
- Project types will vary across platforms and mediums including infographics, editorial layouts, and web/social assets
- Execute on projects from concept to delivery (rough sketches to final product)
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams
- Contribute to daily design inspiration, critiques, and discussions
- Explore new ideas, approaches, and techniques
Our take
Anduril makes hardware and software for defense agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Its hardware products include specialist drones with a long flight time and surveillance towers.
This hardware is tied together by proprietary software, the Lattice platform, which uses sensor fusion, machine learning, and mesh networking to integrate real-time data from Anduril hardware and third-party systems into a single, autonomous operating picture. While the hardware observes and detects, the software can make decisions as to the threat level of any anomalies, and so allow for observation and protection of an area or building with minimal manpower.
Anduril closed a $1 billion Series G funding round in 2025 led by the Founders Fund, doubling its valuation to $30 billion. This oversubscribed funding round came after the company doubled its revenue in 2024, when it won a contract with the US military to build its soldiers' VY/AR headsets for combat, a contract the company beat Microsoft to.
