Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience building ETL processes
- 4+ years of experience with one or more cloud-hosted databases (Snowflake, Synapse Analytics, Redshift or similar)
- Strong understanding of ETL principles and practices
- Data Modeling expertise
- Excellent SQL skills
- Exemplary organization and time management skills while working both independently and within a team structure
- Ability to break down and translate business needs into development tasks
Desirable
- Experience with dbt (dbt certified a plus)
- Experience utilizing third-party ETL tools (FiveTran, Qlik Replicate, Airbyte)
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages
- Experience managing semi-structured data
- Experience within an Agile environment
- Experience with AWS technologies
What the job involves
- The Senior Data Engineer will work as a part of a dedicated data warehousing team to design and implement the core technologies of which it is comprised
- They will also be responsible for collaborating with the Data Science team and other departments within Bonterra to support their work and assist with data modeling
- Design and implement ETL processes in a cloud environment
- Design and implement monitoring solutions for ETL processes
- Document datasets for data warehouse consumers
- Serve as a technical resource for consumers of the data warehouse, in particular the Data Science team and other internal business units
