Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience managing business-critical projects with demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding deadlines
- 2+ years of experience working with healthcare data and systems
- Strong SQL proficiency, including complex queries, data modeling, and optimization
- Experience with additional BI tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, or Tableau)
- Experience with healthcare claims data, clinical data, or risk adjustment preferred
What the job involves
- As a Data Analyst on Clover's Technology team, you will partner with product, engineering, and data science teams to help analyze, understand, and generate insights from data, collaborate and lead data analysis projects, maintain data systems, and support the team in making data driven decisions
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and automated processes to monitor key metrics
- Generate dashboards and reports to inform the product and operations teams using multiple BI tools
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies in data processing and suggesting data management improvements
- Support maintaining data in product systems for streamlined user experiences
- Work with multiple teams from both the business and engineering to support the data team’s needs
- Work with multiple product teams and projects ranging from provider facing tools, evaluations, operational workflow tools, compliance/regulatory products, and critical vendor integrations
- Work with clinical and risk adjustment data to create customer facing reports by working closely with the account management and operations teams
- Intake of support issues during the early stages of new product and feature launches
- Documentation of standard operating procedures for new product processes
- Success in this role looks like:
- Consistently deliver accurate, automated dashboards and reports that directly inform product and operational decisions
- Reduce data processing time and improve efficiency through identified improvements in data management processes
- Successfully build and maintain a robust library of SQL queries that can be reused across teams
- Create intuitive dashboards that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders
- Build strong working relationships across product, engineering, and operations teams

Clover Health is a medical insurance company operating as a Preferred Provider Orgaization for Medicare Advantage, the Medicare plan for elderly American citizens. It aims to reduce the doctor-insurer friction to increase visibility into the health of patients.
Through its approach, Clover's physicians are able to focus on people, rather than paperwork. It has a patient-centered analytics and dedicated care management team, and thus is able to rapidly identify potential healthcare risks to provide preventative care. This helps to provide a more sophisticated level of care than existing providers, even if its market share is relatively slim compared to competitors like UnitedHealthcare and Humana.
Over the years it has performed well in a rapidly growing market, but in 2021 ran into issues with profitability in the market due to inefficient costings, an issue it is steadily nipping in the bud in 2023. However, the number of elderly Americans has doubled over the past 25 years, and the market is expected to do the same between now and 2025. This upward trend brings hope of revitalising the growth and strong financial performance Clover has seen in recent years, especially as it focuses more on profitability through 2023.
