What the job involves
- As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for setting technical direction to enable our product and infrastructure to scale with our business, driving complex projects across our technical stack, and mentoring our talented engineering team
- Your past experience will be leveraged to enable and accelerate Vanta’s growth
- The Cloud, Code, and Security (CCS) is a nascent team within the Automation Organization at Vanta
- CCS owns customer-facing outcomes related to how companies use their cloud-related data
- We build and operate product surfaces, backend systems, and integrations to enable upmarket and downmarket users to accomplish a wide range of compliance jobs
- As a Senior Software Engineer on CCS, you will play a pivotal role in chartering this team, working closely with product and design to bring novel product experiences alive for some of our most discerning customers
- Lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders and engineers to deliver significant impact to our business
- Set direction for critical technical surface areas, enabling us to stay ahead of continued rapid growth
- Design, develop, and own new product functionality and/or infrastructure leveraging modern frameworks and tooling (TypeScript, React, Node.js)
- Work with talented and kind engineers to make a significant impact on our customer base, enabling them to improve their security and prove it
- Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow

The security auditing process is usually very time-consuming, taking hours to complete, and it is often difficult for startups to invest time into such a process. Yet, the benefits of security accreditation are enormous, mainly as many such businesses are working globally and need ways to demonstrate security compliance to one another. Vanta works specifically with startups to help them complete and pass security audits such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
The company is a compliance portal and security monitoring platform that businesses use to assess their risk levels. Vanta carries out a pre-audit of a company's digital security and highlights areas that need to be worked on before a full analysis of all threats is carried out. Other businesses such as Datadog or PagerDuty offer similar security monitoring services, but Vanta monitors its customers throughout the year, allowing any issues to be identified and addressed early on.
