Who you are
- Experience: 3–5 years in International Trade Marketing, ideally in FMCG, retail, or consumer goods
- International Exposure: First-hand experience in international trade marketing is a must, preferably in the UK or the Netherlands; experience in Spain or Italy is a plus
- Project Management: Strong ability to develop and execute tactical plans in international retail environments
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams and functions
- Proactive & Solution-Oriented: A hands-on mindset with a "can-do" attitude, thriving in fast-paced settings
- Creativity & Influence: Ability to develop innovative ideas and inspire stakeholders
- Languages: Fluency in English is essential; Dutch, Spanish, or French are a plus

What the job involves
- Join us as our International Trade Marketing Manager and play a key role in bringing our brand to life in stores across Europe
- Based at our Amsterdam office you’ll be the go-to person for our international teams and distribution partners, shaping our success in new markets
- As an International Trade Marketing Manager you will drive in-store brand visibility and shopper engagement with a focus on executions in the UK and Netherlands, while supporting our expansion into new regions (e.g. Belgium, Spain, Italy, Nordics)
- This role reports into the international headquarters team in Munich, while closely collaborating with local country teams
- You will execute impactful B2C trade marketing activations in established markets while also supporting sales teams and distribution partners with B2B initiatives
- Additionally, you will develop and implement go-to-market strategies for emerging markets, ensuring a strong foundation for future growth
- Identify local market needs and opportunities, ensuring tailored executions within budget while considering local differences
- Plan, execute, and evaluate all trade marketing activations in the UK, Netherlands, and Belgiumto boost brand visibility and sales, adapting to local market dynamics
- Work closely with the yfood in-house creative team and brand management to deliver optimal brand executions for international trade activities
- Monitor POS activations, promotions, and competitor performance to refine strategies
- Conduct market analyses to identify trends and growth opportunities
- Develop and align quarterly and annual trade marketing plans for optimal execution
- Track budgets and activity performance to maximize efficiency and impact
- Collaborate with the wider marketing team to align trade marketing with overall marketing strategies
- Support emerging market expansion by integrating trade marketing into go-to-market plans
- Organize and support local sales teams on executing B2B trade shows and retailer events
Our take
Meal replacement drinks are, perhaps surprisingly, beginning to gain more of an audience. The giant in the space is of course Huel, who has helped to shift the product’s focus away from weight-loss and towards the more modern trend for nutrition. Consequently, a steadily growing market has emerged over recent years that’s invited more players into the ring - yfood among them.
The company offers a familiar product spread: drinks, bars, and powders that serve as meal replacements containing all the essential vitamins, nutrients, and minerals, with an emphasis on natural ingredients. It’s available on home delivery and in health food stores, and marketed at those with an active, on-the-go lifestyle concerned about maintaining good nutrition.
In fact, the difference between the German company yfood and its US and UK competitors appears fairly slim, and predominantly one of branding. However, it has carved out a substantial niche for itself in Europe and has seen 100% annual year on year growth. In April 2023 Nestlé acquired just under half of the company's shares, a substantial exit for the investors backing the company. yfood, having been profitable for some time, will focus on increasing its market share and developing its product line.
