Who you are
- Proven leadership experience: Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, with a focus on backend technologies
- Strong technical foundation: Long-term experience with NodeJS using TypeScript, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL, RabbitMQ
- Architectural expertise: Deep understanding of microservices architecture, database design, SQL, and CI/CD

What the job involves
- The Engineering team builds the software powering Veriff. We're cracking the online identity crisis in a scalable way, deploying excellence to keep Veriff on the cusp of innovation. It's a fast-paced market with many challenges
- We're seeking an experienced and driven Technical Lead to join our Data Verification team
- In this role, you'll lead a team of talented engineers extending Veriff's new use cases, focusing exclusively on backend technologies
- You will guide the development of mission-critical products such as Proof of Address, AML Screening, and contribute to shaping the platform that standardizes various registry integrations
- We're not just looking for a strong coder; we're seeking a technical leader ready to inspire and mentor our team to extend Veriff's portfolio beyond ID verification
- Leading and mentoring: Guiding a team of engineers, fostering their growth, and cultivating a collaborative and high-performing environment
- Technical direction: Providing technical leadership and direction in the design, development, and testing of software applications or systems using TypeScript and occasionally Python
- Architectural oversight: Ensuring the quality and maintainability of the codebase, promoting best practices, and contributing to architectural decisions
- Collaboration and communication: Effectively collaborating with other tech leads, product managers, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions
- Driving results: Taking ownership of projects and features, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
Our take
Veriff started when the founder tried to access one of the worlds largest online marketplaces underage. He realised that, with some slight photo editing, he could easily break through their verification process. The company believes that identity is a valuable asset, and delivers real safety, protection and transparency to interactions online.
Veriff combines technical advancements in facial recognition, social ID, device ID and more into a SaaS model, that is easy to use and accessible to companies of all sizes. The service includes features such as real-time identity document verification, automated "Proof of Address" processes, and automated SSN Verification.
Veriff has continued to add to its offerings with new technologies and improvements. The considerable funds raised by the company in 2022 fuelled continued research and development, as well as enabling it to hire more talent into its team. Partnerships with the likes of SonoSuite, a digital tech provider for the music industry, indicate Veriff's continued expansion of its products into new markets.
