Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or a related field
- 8+ years in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, or CRM, with a track record of running high-volume programs where business results were the scoreboard
- Backgrounds in fintech, financial services, e-commerce, or subscription businesses are strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience building and deploying campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a comparable ESP (Braze, Klaviyo, Iterable). You don't need to be a developer, but you need to be comfortable in the platform
- A disciplined approach to A/B testing: you know what you're testing, why it matters, and how to build on what you learn over time
- Strong segmentation and data analysis skills, with the ability to use insights to continuously improve targeting, messaging, and program design
- Strong communication and cross-functional skills, including the ability to write a solid creative brief, align stakeholders, and push back when something doesn't serve the customer or the business
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities and drive projects to completion
- Comfortable leading teams through ambiguity: allowing you and your team to pivot seamlessly, embrace change, and uncover opportunities in a dynamic business environment
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications are a plus
What the job involves
- The Email Marketing Manager will join our Small Business Team (OnDeck and Headway Capital) reporting to the Head of Marketing, SMB and will be responsible for driving units, volume, and efficiency through email and SMS programs across the full customer journey.
- You'll manage a team, so you'll be both an executor and a developer of talent. If you're passionate about owning a channel, moving business metrics, and building a testing culture over time, this is the role for you!
- Develop the strategic direction for comprehensive consumer lifecycle strategies across email and SMS, from design and implementation to ongoing maintenance and optimization, driving conversion, volume, and efficiency from lead acquisition through renewal and win-back
- Build and deploy campaigns and customer experiences directly in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, owning hands-on execution across audience segmentation, journey logic, and send cadence
- Develop and maintain an A/B testing program covering subject lines, CTAs, offer structure, send frequency, and segments with a focus on driving business results
- Write or closely direct creative briefs and campaign copy that resonate with small business owners across industries and stages of the customer lifecycle
- Partner with MarTech and MarOps to align on platform architecture, automation capabilities, and new tooling, translating business needs into scalable channel executions
- Manage lifecycle forecasting, budget, and performance reporting, working with Analytics to connect channel activity to lending outcomes and maintain clear visibility into what the channel is producing and where to optimize
- Develop, maintain, and scale customer-centric campaigns that drive awareness, conversion, onboarding, continued engagement with OnDeck, and education about our Term Loan and Line of Credit products
- Collaborate with Product, Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Analytics, and Creative teams to ensure alignment of messaging, touchpoints, and features across the customer and merchant journey, while solving for consumer needs, conversion, and loyalty at scale
Our take
Providing customers with quick access to credit is important for fintech companies to survive in today's financial landscape of open banking, but this is made difficult by high credit rejection rates from banks. However, these decisions are generally made by human assessments of data, which are limited due to the complexity of the modern financial landscape. AI-driven solutions, able to analyse vast amounts of data almost instantly to derive accurate credit risk assessments, present room for improvement in the lending industry.
Enova provides a platform called Colossus that leverages AI and machine learning-enabled analytics to provide businesses and individuals with fast, reliable, and trustworthy credit. The company achieves this by partnering with banks and sharing its data analysis solutions, helping to identify credit opportunities when they would otherwise be missed. There is definitely a market for its product: over 15M customers have funded almost $70B through the platform to date.
Enova has grown strongly in recent years based on the rapid uptake of its product. As the macroeconomic climate remains volatile, businesses will become increasingly reliant on Enova's AI-based solutions to help them manage credit risk and navigate a complex lending environment.
