Who you are
- We’re looking for an aspiring storyteller who is passionate about the topics Hypebeast covers and is excited about an opportunity to create content around this
- This person will understand how social media works and what content resonates with a Gen-Z audience, with the ability to actually make this content
- They will have their ear to the ground and be as familiar with up and coming brands as they are with bigger ones
- They are creative, collaborative and authentically connected to culture
- Able to edit photo/video to a high standard on Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Proactive team player but able to work independently
- Knowledge of Hypebeast content at a local and international level
- Interest in social media and current trends
- Must speak meme
What the job involves
- Hypebeast is looking for a Social Content Intern to join our team in London for a 6-month internship
- This position requires in-person work at our central London office during the week
- This person will support the Hypebeast UK team in content creation, learning how a media title works, how to conduct interviews, and how to work as part of a global editorial team along the way
- Assist with the creation and posting of daily content on social platforms
- Edit short form video clips to create publishable content, e.g. Instagram Reels
- Process images for Instagram, e.g. cropping, resizing, putting into templates
- Support with community engagement in the comments and DMs
- Source news stories and brainstorm ideas and concepts with the team
- Keep the cultural calendar updated and help to identify editorial opportunities in advance
- Support on weekly performance reporting on Hypebeast UK Instagram
- Support on interviews and photoshoots as needed

Founded in 2005 as a hobbyist men's fashion blog, Hypebeast has today exploded into an editorial and eCommerce empire with several major media outlets aimed at different market segments, a commerce branch with an online and high street presence, and a creative production agency for talent working in fashion and other areas. Considered to be an influential authority on street fashion and culture, it has amassed an audience of over 16 million unique viewers per month, mostly among men aged 18-35.
Hypebeast is named after the street fashion style emphasising heavy branding, which has been on something of a downturn lately. Men are beginning to turn towards more subdued and luxe basics (an example of this trend is the recent global decline in sneaker sales compared to loafers). While this may in the short term impact Hypebeast's eCommerce offerings, its editorial team is pivoting to remain ahead of trends and maintain Hypebeast's influence on fashion culture.
As a trend leader, Hypebeast is continually expanding into new markets. Having established media outlets for women's and Asian fashion, it has recently moved into sports and even coffee, having opened a café in its flagship clothing shop in Hong Kong. Most recently it launched in Latin America with a Spanish-language and regionally curated offering. In the long term, it will continue to expand its presence in this market and seek to grow globally.
