Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a highly skilled, multidisciplinary Brand Designer to help bring our evolving visual identity to life across digital, motion, and interactive formats
- This role is ideal for a designer with exceptional craft—someone who can translate complex ideas into elegant visuals, shape how we communicate payments innovation, and create high-impact brand experiences across all channels
- You should be comfortable supporting day-to-day creative needs while proactively contributing ideas, visual explorations, and concept directions
- 3+ years of experience in brand, visual, or motion design
- A portfolio showcasing strong craft across graphic, motion, and digital design
- Strong sense of layout, typography, composition, and motion principles
- Ability to work within and extend a visual identity system
- Experience designing for digital surfaces such as social, web, product marketing, and presentations
- Excitement for experimenting with new tools, workflows, and creative formats
- Interest in the future of payments, digital infrastructure, and financial technology (industry experience not required)
What the job involves
- What began as the most trusted protocol in Web3 is evolving into a full payments ecosystem, and with that transformation comes the need to reimagine how the brand shows up in the world. This role sits at the center of that evolution
- This is not a maintenance design role—it's a foundational brand-building opportunity
- Contribute to the evolution of WalletConnect’s visual identity as we expand into new payment-focused products
- Develop and maintain brand system components including typography, color, illustration, iconography, and motion
- Conduct visual research, moodboarding, and trend scanning to support concept development
- Contribute ideas and explore creative directions for campaigns, visuals, and motion assets
- Produce polished graphics, motion assets, animations, and digital layouts
- Design, and roll-out for social, web, product storytelling, presentations, and event experiences
- Execute simple to intermediate 2D motion tasks (e.g., social animations, product feature explainers, lightweight motion explorations)
- Build templates and creative that scale while preserving sophistication and clarity
- Partner with marketing and product teams to bring campaigns, announcements, and narratives to life
- Translate complex concepts—especially around innovation in payments—into clear, engaging visual stories
- Support launches, educational content, partner communications, and ecosystem initiatives
- Assist in developing campaign concepts, visual ideas, and early creative directions before moving into execution
- Explore emerging tools and creative technologies, including AI and generative workflows
- Push creative boundaries across motion, interactive formats, and digital-first storytelling
- Contribute to new ways of visualizing payments, infrastructure, and digital commerce
Our take
WalletConnect is a Web 3.0 communications protocol that enables wallets and apps to securely connect. The company’s suite of APIs have been integrated by hundreds of wallets and apps to enable interoperability between devices, and bridge users with Web 3.0’s emerging products.
With the popularity of cryptocurrency applications on the rise, WalletConnect is primed for growth - as it offers a way to establish connections between crypto wallets and decentralized finance apps. To date, partner wallets and apps include Coinbase, MetaMask, Uniswap, and OpenSea, as well as X and Stripe.
Having raised funding in late 2022, led by Union Space Ventures and 1kx, the company stated it would scale wallet interoperability and work on developing a generalized messaging layer, so it provides a medium of communication between users.
