Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Product Design, User Experience Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Proven experience (5+ years) in UX/UI design, with a strong track record of delivery innovative consumer social experiences
- Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional visual design skills and user-centered design thinking
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, Maya or similar software
- End to End systems thinking that advocates for comprehensive and connected user experiences
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
- Expert knowledge of communication design patterns and familiarity with e-commerce, 3D Avatars and gaming experiences
- Proactive problem solving and project management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a design team
- Investigative and inquisitive about product goals from both a company's and user's perspective, promoting a learning culture both within the Product Design team and the larger Roblox organization
- A compelling storyteller with strong communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying design concepts and rationale to partners
- Collaborative mentality with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence design decisions
- Deep understanding and passion for the gaming industry, especially user-generated content platforms like Roblox
- Keen interest in user experience trends, industry advancements, and emerging technologies
- Ability to balance business objectives, user needs, and technical constraints in design solutions
- Motivated and always expanding your skills by looking for new tools and techniques
What the job involves
- As a Senior Product Designer on Social, you'll design for our immersive experience sharing experiences
- You will design and build end-to-end social sharing products for our core player app, working collaboratively with other leaders across product, research, data science and engineering to define social-first experiences for our immersive platform
- You will be the go-to designer for an emerging product area, and own the end to end experience across mobile, desktop, 10ft, XR wearables and beyond
- You'll help define UX strategy, product patterns, contribute to roadmap, and define sprint commitments
- You'll be an inspirational designer, innovating on zero to one social sharing features, partnering and mentoring other dedicated designers as we build an industry leading metaverse platform
- You'll make an impact that fuels our user’s creativity and enables players around the world to enjoy incredible experiences on Roblox at a time of sustained growth for our business
- Help define the UX design strategy and collaborates on the roadmap for core social surfaces on Roblox
- Develop a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors, and motivations to advise design decisions
- Bring a new perspective and deep industry knowledge
- Deeply care about craft by creating visually compelling and intuitive user interfaces across devices and surfaces for a global audience
- Collaborate with the Foundation Design Systems team and co-develop new patterns and UI components to ensure consistency and scalability
- Understand the role of younger players, teen and adult players, brands, creators and studios to create a social strategy that serves all audiences
- Understand and communicate with your design work how to engage users and build deep online friendships and connections
- Optimize user flows, connection opportunities and the social graph to enhance and deepen community on Roblox
- Leverage analytics and user feedback to identify pain points and implement data-driven improvements
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, influencing and aligning design decisions
- Partner with engineering by providing high-quality design specs and partner on implementation to deliver a high-quality, high-craft experience
- Present design journeys and strategies at the team level

In addition to standard games, the platform offers virtual worlds and other experiences to explore and interact with. Its platform provides an online ecosystem for millions to create, socialize, chat, and explore immersive experiences with friends. In fact, in the US its used by two-thirds of children aged 9 to 12.
