Role
Who you are
- Proven background as a Senior or Technical Program Manager, in blockchain, Web3, or a technically demanding fast-moving environment
- Strong grasp of software development lifecycles and technical delivery
- Track record managing multiple concurrent programs across cross-functional teams
- Experience drafting and managing technical SOWs and vendor contracts
- Familiarity with security protocols around digital asset management, token movements, multisig wallet operations, custody, and direct experience coordinating security audits or vulnerability remediation programs
- Strong risk management instincts and pragmatic problem-solving
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to move between technical and non-technical stakeholders without losing fidelity in either direction
What the job involves
- The Avalanche Foundation is looking for a technically deep program leader to own the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex blockchain programs
- This is a hands-on technical leadership position, not a coordination role
- You will need to understand blockchain technology at depth, engage credibly with engineering teams and external partners, and bring the rigour of a seasoned program manager to high-stakes delivery
- You will work across internal teams and external ecosystem partners, third-party developers, auditors, integration partners, and be expected to get into the technical details, ask the right questions, keep programs on track, and keep leadership informed
- End-to-end program delivery across cross-functional and cross-organisational workstreams, from scoping and resourcing through to launch and retrospective
- Program plans with clear milestones, dependencies, risk registers, and acceptance criteria, adapting delivery frameworks pragmatically to each program
- Coordination across engineering, research, security, legal, and finance, resolving blockers and keeping workstreams aligned
- Drafting and scoping technical Statements of Work for external software development, protocol integrations, and security audit engagements
- Security audit programs end-to-end: coordinating with internal engineering and external auditors, tracking findings through to remediation and sign-off
- Vendor and delivery partner management with accountability to agreed scope, quality standards, and timelines
- Clear, concise program reporting for senior leadership and the Foundation board
- Technical risk identification and delivery decisions informed by deep knowledge of blockchain infrastructure, consensus mechanisms, on-chain governance, token economics, smart contract architecture
- Credible technical engagement with internal teams and external ecosystem partners

The highly secure and decentralised nature of blockchain technology makes it an attractive prospect for financial projects. Historically, this has compromised transaction speed and scalability, with Ethereum and Blockchain speeds barely breaking into double digits per second.
Ava Labs’ open-source platform, Avalanche, enables companies to launch decentralised applications with all the benefits of blockchain, whilst processing a record-smashing 4,500 transactions per second. The company's strategy has been to tailor its blockchain to specific applications, establishing a reputation in the sector through efficient hard-and-fast use cases with low fees. This has allowed it to operate alongside blockchain giants like Ethereum that hold large amounts of the DeFi market.
In answering the strong appetite for a cheaper and more scalable blockchain consensus, Ava Labs has found a keen audience and secured the ability to pursue its goal of opening the space up to more users. The Avalanche platform has become the first to partner with Amazon Web Services, becoming part of a project to bring blockchain technology to government and enterprises. The company also partnered with digital identity verification provider Blockpass to collaborate towards furthering the safety, security and capabilities of the ecosystem.
