- You set guard rails around scope, technology, quality, NFRs, and best practices, then empower your team to find the best solution within these guard rails
- You enjoy working in a product and client value driven environment. Collaborating closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders
- Strong understanding of full stack engineering best practices including CICD and Observability
- Acted as a strong partner to multiple business areas to deliver on key priorities with a one-team mindset
- Strong people focus – you prioritise your team’s L&D, understand how to keep your team motivated and build a strong culture based on psychological safety
- Able to manage ambiguity and seek clarity through collaboration and communication
- Strong software engineering background, able to define and communicate complex architectural concepts to non-technical stakeholders

What the job involves
- HL’s website is a core part of our digital platform and provides both prospective and current clients with information on our service, the stock market, news, and education. Over the past year we have been migrating to a new cutting-edge headless CMS (Contentful) and are looking to accelerate this, as well as take it to the next level, building services which allow us to create client experiences with deep personalisation, working seamlessly across devices and channels
- HL are looking for a talented Software Engineering Manager, passionate about delivering market-leading digital experiences for our clients, to join our team in our mission to transform the investing experience by using advanced personalisation across our client journeys
