Role
Who you are
- A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Analytics, or any quantitative STEM field, followed by 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience in a business intelligence or data analysis-related occupation
- Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:
- 1) 2 years of experience performing large-scale energy data analysis
- 2) 2 years of experience assessing clean energy asset valuation
- 3) 2 years of experience with financial modeling of energy assets and utilities
- 4) 2 years of experience working with energy systems or performing grid modeling with commercially available models, such as AURORA or PLEXOS
- 5) 2 years of experience synthesizing data for external parties or customers
What the job involves
- Identify customers' interests and concerns to translate customer needs into a quantifiable framework and ensure successful delivery of product development and associated system components
- Partner with Commercial Operations and Battery Product Management teams to analyze and identify specific opportunities for our multi-day energy storage product
- Liaise with customers about their business needs, systems, and pain points to provide a quantifiable engineering framework for our product development
- Utilize complex data, power market expertise, and modeling tools to determine project configurations for specific customer applications
- Quantify and communicate product value and recommendations for improvements to our products
- Design and create critical data-driven pitches to communicate the value of our products to current and future customers
- Prototype new and existing suites and tools to scope and build new tools to uncover and deliver customer value
- Collect and organize large data sets; run extensive quantitative analyses to address complex questions; and present complex results to senior management and commercial analytics teams
- May telecommute part of the week from commuting distance to the Berkeley, CA office per our hybrid work policy

A completely electrical infrastructure is restricted by the inherent limitation that electrical energy is difficult and costly to store. Form Energy, however, have created a reliable battery that has the capacity to revolutionize how we use electricity.
Revolutionizing battery storage is at the core of Form Energy’s approach to making renewable energy universal. Form Energy’s battery is based around Iron-air technology that currently has energy storage capacities and operational costs comparable to legacy power plants. In addition to improvements in cost and consistent electricity access, Form Energy’s batteries are scalable, portable, and safe - offering a unique approach to revolutionizing renewable energy storage towards a greener future.
Although renewable energy storage technology remains an emerging industry, a variety of competitors are also driving developments of battery storage technology. However, Form Energy continues to be a key leader in this space, bagging significant investment that will enable it to build its first manufacturing plant and begin selling to customers. Form Energy's progress is highlighted by a deal with Xcel Energy to deploy iron-air battery systems at two of its retiring coal plant sites and with Puget Sound Energy in 2024, to help the company deploy multi-day energy storage systems.
