Who you are

Have 5+ years of professional experience designing for web-based, prosumer SaaS applications (e.g. Notion, Figma, Miro, Canva) and tools. Are highly proficient in Figma
Have demonstrated deep interest and/or have prior exposure to design patterns for working with generative AI models
Have shipped 0→1 products and demonstrated ability to do rapid prototyping
Have built and maintained design systems/component libraries from scratch
Have a deep understanding of the end-to-end design process, from brainstorming to prototyping and visual design to post-launch research and iteration
Champion great design and UX patterns throughout our culture and product
Willingness to be scrappy and ship fast

What the job involves

As a founding member of our Product Design team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and research teams, to create user-centered designs
We are building full-stack AI products that are trained to unlock collaborative capabilities that far exceed what could be achieved today; you will play a key role in defining our product interface and pioneering new capabilities in how enterprise workflow decisions can be automated at scale
Lead the design of our product features and end-to-end user experience, ensuring the product is intuitive, visually appealing, and functionally sets the bar in the industry
Work closely with our design partners to understand how Essential’s product will integrate into their workflow
Imagine, design, iterate, and build beautiful UX patterns to rethink how companies and businesses will interact with data

Our take

Essential AI shifted out of stealth mode in 2023 with the $56.5 million backing of Google and Nvidia, no mean feat for a company founded the year before. It develops full-stack AI products to support productivity by automating time-consuming and monotonous workflows.

Bringing forward experience and knowledge from careers in giants like Google, the company is fuelled with severe understanding of the sector. Though in its primitive stages, its promise of benefiting enterprise operations by deepening the relationship between computers and humans led to its exciting raise in funding.

This Series B will allow the company to build a diverse team to delve into a new market, building tools that will drastically change the scale productivity for its customers. With ambitious goals, we’re excited to see the specifics of what Essential AI will bring to the space moving forward.
