Who you are
- The ideal candidate will excel at tackling complex challenges, be comfortable partnering with XFN researchers and engineers to bring new features and capabilities, and enjoy working at a fast pace on a variety of tasks
- MS or PhD Degree in Computer Science or related practical experience
- +3 years of experience in leading and developing software solutions for customer-facing platforms
- Proven record of establishing and promoting a culture of high-quality software development, consistently setting and upholding the highest standards of coding excellence and documentation within the company
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems, debug code efficiently, and automate routine tasks to enhance system functionality
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions to varied audiences
- Strong problem-solving ability and the ability to work in ambiguous and constantly evolving environment
- Proficient in Python, with experience in writing high-quality, maintainable code. Familiarity with additional programming languages is a plus
- Plus if you have experience working on Trust & Safety / Integrity related areas
- Plus if you have past experience in Generative AI space
What the job involves
- We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Applied Team, focused on designing, building, and deploying scalable tools and products supporting our applied team
- Your responsibilities will also include working closely with cross-functional teams, like the platform team, to ensure that these systems integrate seamlessly and support the broader goals of our organization
- Lead, Design, develop, and maintain robust solutions to enhance our workflow developments. Collaborate closely with software engineers and product managers to create scalable, efficient systems
- Work collaboratively with peers across different teams to support and enhance a shared technical infrastructure
- Mentor junior engineers and peers, setting high standards for code quality and engineering best practices
- Write high-quality, maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices
- Promote a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning within the team

Stability AI is an AI-driven visual art company that designs and implements an open AI tool that creates images based on text input. Through collective intelligence and augmented technology, Stability AI is helping research communities develop cutting-edge AI models for image, language, audio, video, 3D content, biotech and other scientific research.
Working in partnership with Amazon Web Services, Stability AI's latest release, Stable Diffusion is a text-to-image model that utilizes the Ezra-1 UltraCluster (the world's fifth-largest supercomputer). The model quickly proved to be a success, with four of the top ten applications on Apple's App Store being powered by Stable Diffusion after just one month.
The company is also focused on expanding its creative sector offerings, recently hiring legendary filmmaker James Cameron to bring an artistic perspective to its suite of storytelling tools. This exciting development will help Stability AI push the boundaries of AI-driven media and help on its mission to transform visual storytelling.
