What the job involves
- We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative Senior Manager of Product Design, Growth to lead a team of designers focused on driving adoption, retention, and expansion of Zapier through product-led growth
- This role sits at the intersection of design, experimentation, and business outcomes
- You’ll partner closely with product managers, engineers, marketers, and data to design experiences that reduce customer friction, accelerate time-to-value, and scale durable growth
- Lead and develop the growth design team: Set clear goals, define success metrics, and coach designers through regular feedback. Partner with cross-functional leaders to align design strategy with business growth objectives
- Design for the funnel: Shape experiences that reduce friction and improve conversion across the user journey — from onboarding to retention to expansion
- Growth experimentation & optimization: Partner with your designers, Growth PMs, and data to run experiments, codify insights, and scale learnings into durable growth plays
- Champion user-centered metrics. Use qualitative and quantitative data to identify friction points, validate design decisions, and demonstrate business impact
- Advance AI-enabled design practices. Leverage AI to speed up design exploration, test hypotheses, and identify customer opportunities
- Shape growth culture. Establish design best practices for experimentation, foster a mindset of rapid learning, and ensure growth design is aligned with Zapier’s product-led growth strategy

Our take
Even before remote working became the "in thing", freelancers, small business owners, and large organisations have found themselves needing more and more software platforms to serve their operations needs. As people used more software services, Zapier founders saw the need to connect the actions between these softwares and save everyone some time.
Zapier is the largest integration and automation tool for businesses. Since being founded, Zapier has grown its suite of automation offerings across almost every mainstream software service. The company is one of the most successful to come out of Y Combinator, and has also been one of the pioneers of remote working.
Zapier has so far, been able to capitalise heavily on its advantage as first entrants and has had very little actual competition. Software services aren't going anywhere anytime soon and organisations are only going to need more of them. This puts Zapier in a strong place growth-wise but also opens up room for bolder companies to get in on the action. Companies like Airtable and Integromat are already preying on more niche segments of Zapier's market share.
