Who you are
- 0-2 years of experience in sales, customer-facing roles, or a related field (new grads welcome)
- Genuinely hungry to build a career in sales and comfortable making a high volume of calls
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Coachable, competitive, and resilient in the face of rejection
- Interest in e-commerce, Shopify, or SaaS is a plus
- Based in or willing to relocate to New York City
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Business Development Representative who wants to be on the phone every day, not hiding behind email templates
- You'll be the first voice a prospective merchant hears from Alia
- Your job is to find opportunity, create it, and hand off qualified conversations to ourAccount Executives
- This is a foot-in-the-door role for someone who wants a career in sales and is ready to earn it
- Make outbound calls and run outreach sequences to Shopify merchants and ecommerce brands daily
- Qualify inbound leads quickly and book meetings for our AE team
- Research accounts and personalize outreach so it actually lands
- Work closely with Marketing and Sales to test messaging and improve conversion
- Keep CRM data clean and accurate so pipeline reporting is trustworthy
- Hit and exceed monthly and quarterly quota, consistently
- Opportunity to travel to see clients and prospects in person at dinners, industry conferences, and events to help build pipeline
- Clear path to Account Executive for top performers
