Role
Who you are
- Must have experience selling and account managing media buying/advertising agencies
- B2B experience in a publishing, media or events company
- Experienced with a full sales cycle and comfortable selling to and retaining clients (this is a 360 sales role) and includes new business and, in time, account management
- Negotiation skills - it’s essential you feel comfortable discussing client budgets and preparing sales presentations or pitch decks for clients
- A passion for finding solutions within a suite of products, portfolio sales experience is a must
- Account management experience. We have a consultative sales approach, so understanding the nuances of client needs, along with being able to demonstrate a clear process of client management and provide examples of how account growth is achieved is a must
- Proven track record with accounts managed with a yearly value of a minimum of £50k
- The ability to generate your own leads and be comfortable with cold calling and demonstrate a clear process you’ve used in the past with opening senior accounts within a similar media or events business
- Comfortable with G-suite (we’re a Google shop), along with CRM management experience
- A “black book” of clients is not essential but is certainly a bonus
- You’ll be interested and have a passion or knowledge tech and the startup space
- You’ll enjoy a fast paced environment
- You must enjoy the independence of running your own “book” of clients, but also working with a smart and dedicated team to deliver results together
- You’ll want to be a brand ambassador and champion of Sifted - converting an entrepreneurial spirit and have a passion for our mission
- You’ll want to get out and about with a willingness to travel and attend conferences, social events and other client meetings
What the job involves
- As we continue on our amazing growth journey here at Sifted we are looking for a business development manager to take charge and lead on building our relationships with relevant advertising agencies to help ensure Sifted remains the number one choice for brands wanting to reach our highly engaged audience
- We work with a diverse range of companies, from big tech and large corporates to early-stage startups looking to increase their visibility. We have built a strong portfolio of advertising & sponsorship products so you’ll be selling a full suite of media from digital advertising, content, events (in real life and digital) and bespoke creative campaigns
- We’ve already helped 100s clients position their brands and products with Sifted audiences through advertising with Sifted, but we want to help more. The newly formed role focuses on cultivating advertising agency business, requiring someone with a strong knowledge of how media buying agencies operate, a good existing network and the drive to build and maintain good relationships
- You’ll be hunting out the opportunities to respond RFPs, proactively develop custom ideas, and deliver up-sell and always on opportunities for your clients
