Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 11 years of experience in digital media sales, digital advertising, or digital marketing
- Experience working with advertisers, agencies, or clients
Desirable
- Experience building trusted-advisor relationships at C-level
- Experience with Google Ad Solutions
- Experience with influencing within an organization in order to drive business success
- Ability to work in ambiguity and collaborate while managing multiple projects, business leads, and internal stakeholders
- Ability to define strategies and tactics that align to deliver customer business outcomes, while navigating agency and client relationships
What the job involves
- Grow advertising business through clear, data-driven POVs, and recommendations that align with Customer Business Objectives
- Manage and develop relationships with executives and our clients through a consultative, customer-focused, and business approach
- Deliver a clear POV to help inform clients’ marketing plans through the funnel and across multiple products
- Partner with external and internal teams to identify opportunities and develop business plans
- Perform project management on initiatives across a variety of stakeholders and drive projects to successful outcomes
Our take
Google's fast growth since incorporation has triggered a chain of products, acquisitions, and partnerships beyond Google's core search engine product. Despite 80% of revenue coming from advertising services, it's known for continually investing in 'moonshot' projects (like self-driving cars) in an effort to find the next big pillar of the business.
Google recently announced an investment of $9.5bn to expand its offices and data centres in the US. This investment is connected to the company’s ambitious green goal of operating on carbon-free energy full-time by 2030, and will partly focus on setting new standards for green building design.
Following years of rapid hiring, and faced with a broader slowdown of ad spending, the company is being faced by weaker-than-expected revenue. CEO Sundar Pichai has recently announced that Google is reducing its head count by about 12,000 to adapt to global economic conditions. It will move to refocus its talent and capital to the company's highest priorities.
