- World-Class brand designer. You love designing. As a part of a world-class creative team, you’ll need the strong ability to steer design brand systems to be as impactful as possible, steering creative concepts, and producing high-quality and high-craft work consistently that keeps Headspace sticky in the world’s mind
- Complex design problem solver. In an ever-evolving and culturally relevant space like digital mental healthcare space, where AI products and their impact are being discussed every day, you’ll need to bring social awareness, mindfulness, and compassion that support both short-term and long-term brand/product evolution. You need the ability to adapt, respond and deliver tasteful design solutions quickly

- Comfortable leading creative projects or working autonomously when needed
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Interest in researching and experimenting with new AI tools and workflows

- As a Temp Senior Brand Designer, you’ll help bring the Headspace brand to life across every touchpoint—from the tiniest product icon to full-scale marketing campaigns that reach millions
- You’ll work side-by-side with our Creative Directors, as well as a talented crew of copywriters, designers, illustrators, and animators
- Together, you’ll shape visuals that make the beloved Headspace brand instantly recognizable and meaningful
- You’ll also collaborate closely with our cross-functional partners—Product, Marketing, Content, and Studios—to ensure the Headspace personality is seamlessly woven into everything we create, from in-app programs to member emails to billboards and more
- Please note this is a 3-4 month temp position (40 hrs/week)
- Be a key contributor to evolving our existing Brand and Visual Design Systems across various surfaces to support our growing Headspace Brand
- Simplify abstract concepts and complex ideas into visually stunning and playful designs
- Work collaboratively with different stakeholders and teams to craft strategic brand experiences
- Provide strong and thoughtful design ideation for B2B and D2C functions, partnering closely with our Lead Brand Designer and Creative Directors as well as Marketing, Product, Content, and Engineering teams. You will bring creative direction to life across these various channels and briefs, working with strategic planners
- Collaborate well with the illustrators and animators on the team, providing art direction and references, as well as learning from them
- Exercise equally strong conceptual and execution skills, with a keen eye for effective typography, iconography, color, layout, art direction, and meaning. Those skills will be translated within the context of the Headspace brand to create intuitive, accessible, and compelling work
- Ideate strong concepts informed by research insights and design strategy, collaborating with senior team members to refine direction
- Present your ideas and collaborate with teammates to drive alignment with stakeholders
- Challenge and inform briefs with your own design and brand perspective and insights
- You love feedback and encourage all creative work to be reviewed and discussed leading up to delivery, and are interested in the results afterwards. You are always looking for opportunities to fine-tune the work to deliver on objectives
- You know your print specs from your digital specs and you’ll be able to design anything from digital banner rectangles to full-scale integrated campaign ooh placements
Our take
The world is facing a growing mental health crisis. In 2022, the US saw the proportion of the population with an acute anxiety, depression or other mental health need grow from 20% to 40%.
In 2021, Headspace and Ginger finalised a $3bn merger to form Headspace Health, an accessible mental health platform. It is determined to democratize mental healthcare, and its brands are already being used by over 100 million people and more than 4,000 enterprises including Starbucks, Adobe and Paramount.
There is clearly a need for virtual mental healthcare, and the market is growing increasingly crowded, with competitors including His & Hers Health. However, Headspace Health sets itself apart with its rapidly growing portfolio of services, added in part through strategic acquisitions such as that of AI health firm Sayana in 2022. It is now focusing on international expansion, offering its services directly to companies in the UK for the first time.
