- We're open to hiring a Senior- or Principal-level engineer for this team:
- Basic Qualifications Principal, Machine Learning Engineer
- 10+ years of ML engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent role
- 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining ML systems with clean architecture
- Basic Qualifications Senior Machine Learning Engineer
- 7+ years of experience as an ML engineer
- 2+ years experience as Data Scientist or equivalent role
- 2+ years leading technical & functional discussions
- Master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field
- Experience working with multi-functional teams & leading substantial ML/AI features with a strong focus on non-functional requirements (accuracy, scalability, performance, monitoring, maintenance, security, etc.)
- Validated understanding of Statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and LLM technologies
- Extensive knowledge and experience in building and evaluating ML models
- Superb interpersonal skills with ability to articulate sophisticated technical ideas
- Experience with common frameworks such as numpy, pandas, sklearn, tensorflow, pytorch, langchain etc
What the job involves
- The team develops Workday Prism Analytics which is a high performance data analytics platform to enable modeling, analyzing, and visualizing substantial datasets, from Data Acquisition all the way through Dataset Publishing and Data Visualization
- As a Machine Learning Engineer, you play a key role in the continued success of our products and experiences. You will partner with product managers, designers, architects and engineers to build ML/AI capabilities within Prism platform

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.
Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.
The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
