Who you are
- Strong experience in finance / controller roles
- Ability to operate as a sole finance operator (no direct reports, managing own workload end-to-end)
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with ability to distil complex financial data into clear insights
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities
What the job involves
- With strong recurring revenues and ambitious expansion plans, we are looking for a hands-on assistant accountant to support the finance function for six months during a critical growth phase
- What success looks like
- Reliable, timely management reporting delivered monthly
- Forecasting and cash management processes in place and trusted
- SaaS metrics tracked accurately and understood by leadership
- Finance operations running smoothly in our lean team structure
- In this role you'll deliver accurate monthly management accounts (payroll accruals, prepayments)
- Ensure timely month-end close and reconciliations
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations (AR, AP, bank reconciliations)
- Set up supplier and payroll payment runs
- Work hands-on with payroll system and outsourced vendor
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders providing clear and actionable financial insight
- Support rolling forecast processes. Perform variance analysis with clear commentary for management
- Support on ad-hoc strategic projects
- This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). We typically work from 09:00 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday, though we can be flexible around this, just let us know
- This is a flexible hybrid role based in our Edinburgh HQ. We're making the most of hybrid working, so you won't need to come into the office everyday (unless you want to!)
