Role
Who you are
- You have a track record of defining and building the key metrics and dimensions that accurately reflect user behavior and drive meaningful marketing decisions
- You have experience with performance measurement across paid channels, including TikTok, Meta, Reddit, and similar platforms
- You are highly skilled in SQL, with extensive experience extracting large datasets and designing ETL workflows
- You are experienced with Tableau and proficient in quantitative programming languages like Python
- You bring deep technical expertise in brand measurement methodologies, including Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), lift studies, and experimental design
- You take high ownership of your work and drive outcomes with both confidence and humility
- You're a strong communicator who can craft compelling narratives and make complex data accessible to non-technical audiences
- You consistently meet goals, keep projects on pace, and follow through on your commitments
- You are able to spot things in our data that others have overlooked, and are comfortable making recommendations that will help the broader team improve our self-service capabilities and ways of working
What the job involves
- We are hiring a Senior Marketing Analyst (Contract) to be a key member of the Marketing Analytics team
- The team is focused on measuring paid and organic marketing performance and impact to Brand Awareness, MAU, Registration and Subscription growth
- You will collaborate with Brand Marketing, Growth Marketing, Community Partnership Team, Design and leadership to accelerate learning, make data-informed decisions, and define data-inspired solutions to fuel the growth of Strava’s platform
- This role reports to an Analytics Manager and partners tightly with cross-functional stakeholders throughout the company
- The role has high visibility, and is an exciting opportunity for someone enthusiastic about delivering the wow to a company hungry for actionable data insights!
- Support brand media measurement planning and strategy, ensuring investments align directly with Stava’s brand marketing OKRs
- Work closely with Brand Marketing, Data Science and external agencies to attribute investment (i.e. including modeling (MMM), incrementality testing, and advanced attribution techniques.)
- Gather requirements from various cross-functional partners regarding specific self-service use cases that would complement their workflows
- Provide the “source of truth” for internal consumers by owning critical analytical reporting on metrics like aided brand awareness, familiarity, and consideration
- Create and manage data pipelines from multiple sources, balancing performance and scalability to keep data accessible, fresh, and consistent
- Deliver persuasive and data-driven media performance reviews, audience insights, and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders and marketing leadership (Weekly and Monthly Business Reviews, OKR reviews, and more)
Our take
Strava has created an online network where runners, swimmers and cyclists can record fitness activities, and compare and compete with their community. It offers both a free and premium subscription service with added features. The company also partners with local councils and urban planners who purchase valuable journey data from Strava which can be used to map out cities and develop safer cycle paths.
The platform helps members discover and plan workouts, as well as offering a leaderboard which is updated using GPS as users compete for the top spot on particular fitness segments.
With over 125 million athletes and growing, Strava released several new product rollouts in 2024, including an AI-enabled leaderboard. A partnership with the wearable fitness tracker Oura will mean Strava software is available on wearables, taking the company into fresh competition with the likes of Peloton and Apple. In 2025, the company secured new funding in a round led by Sequoia Capital, growing its value to $2.2 billion.
