Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of experience in product management
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven experience working on Open Banking, account linking, or identity/verification products
- Familiarity with bank account verification methods: micro-deposits, instant verification, credential-based access, etc
- Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects while effectively balancing scope, resourcing, time, and quality
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for goals and deliverables
- Empathy for users and a drive to discover and resolve their pain points
- Strong quantitative skills
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Meticulous and detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture and time-to-market
- Experience at a fast-growing startup in a cross-functional environment is a plus
- Familiar with security and identity concepts such as OAuth, WebAuthn, MFA, biometrics, KYC or FIDO is a plus
What the job involves
- Trustly is looking to add a Product Manager, Bank Verification Services to our growing Product team
- In this role, you will be focused on the Bank Connect and Verification product portfolio, which are leveraged across several of our top partner merchants
- Drive roadmap recommendations in your domain, ensuring adoption across Trustly’s merchant partners, executing flawlessly on 0-to-1 launches and feature optimizations
- Create mockups, write functional specs, create flow charts, write copy, and more to effectively communicate across the organization (especially with our engineers, designers, and other product managers)
- Communicate both the business and technical rationale behind your product/feature ideas
- Own Connect and Verification Solutions roadmaps to increase conversion, drive adoption, and user satisfaction, increasing overall frequency of use
- Dig deep into our data, define and report key product metrics in collaboration with our BI team
- Provide product support and train our internal stakeholders
- Engage with our merchants to understand how we can improve our products to fit their use cases perfectly and create a seamless user experience for their customers
- Work with our UX Design and Research team to conduct user research and create compelling UX flows
- Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape
Our take
Trustly is a fintech platform that makes accepting bank transfers for merchants a simple experience, just like taking card payments. Since 2008 the company has grown from three people to over 900, with several offices across Europe and the Americas.
Trustly is a customer of banks, while its customers are merchants who are charged a transaction fee when they receive payments. Thousands of merchants use Trustly, including global players likes Facebook, AT&T, Alibaba, PayPal and TransferWise.
Whilst bank transfers as a payment method are not that common in certain countries (such as the UK), consumers in other geographies prefer to pay via bank transfer - so there is a real need for what Trustly is offering. The company has made significant expansion progress, secured some highly advantageous partnerships and acquired SlimPay in 2024, as it looks to enhance its payment capabilities.
