QA Engineer, HOPCo

• We are seeking a QA Engineer (Manual) to work within our existing QA team on our patient-facing products (patient mobile app, patient web portal). These products are rich in features and highly configurable, requiring a disciplined approach. Being actively involved in patient care, the products are regulated (SaMD, "Software-as-a-Medical-Device") and so we are required to demonstrate a rigorous approach to test plans and reports
• We maintain a strong culture of quality and automation, supported by robust unit testing and an established suite of Cypress end‑to‑end tests for our web portal. We are also expanding into UI‑driven automation for our native mobile app, creating new opportunities for the team to broaden its technical skill set. As part of this role, you will execute and verify our existing automated test suites while contributing to the ongoing development of mobile UI automation. Although prior automation experience is preferred, it is not required—this position offers an excellent pathway for someone with solid manual QA experience to gain hands-on exposure to automation frameworks and progressively build deeper expertise as the role evolves

• Successful academic background and/or strong relevant commercial experience
• At least 2 years' experience of manual QA, both web and mobile products
• Strong understanding of testing best practices
• Strong technical writing skills, e.g. for acceptance criteria and test plans
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced SCRUM environment
• Humility and desire to learn from anyone

Desirable

• Working within the SCRUM team (including Developers, Product Owner, and fellow QA Engineers) to define effective testing strategies for both existing and upcoming features
• Contributing to the creation of high‑quality acceptance criteria and detailed test plans, leveraging deep product understanding to ensure comprehensive coverage
• Applying a range of specification approaches, including BDD, to support clarity and shared understanding
• Performing manual testing across web and mobile platforms
• Recording test results in a disciplined, audit‑ready manner that aligns with company quality certifications
• Writing and maintaining clear QA‑focused documentation, contributing to a growing onboarding repository that supports future team members and strengthens internal knowledge sharing
• Championing QA best practices and promoting a culture of quality across the team
• Reporting directly to the Head of QA

• 1. 30-min initial Teams video call with member of QA or HR teams
• 2. Video interview with Head of QA
• 3. Submission of QA task. This is designed to test your QA skills, and should take 2-3 hours to complete
• 4. Final face to face interview at our Fitzrovia office
