Who you are

Experience (1 year plus) with developing in more than one programming language (Go, Scala, Rust, or or other high-performance languages)

Desirable

Experience with public or private clouds (AWS / GCP / Azure)
Experience with K8s, Docker, Docker Compose
Experience developing on and using queue systems like Kafka, SQS, and RabbitMQ

Openness to using AI tools in coding (e.g., Cursor) is considered a plus
Ability to adapt quickly and make compromises in writing code when necessary

What the job involves

As our new backend engineer, you will play a key role in laying the technical foundations of GlassFlow
In this high-impact position, you will be responsible for developing server-side applications to process events, building APIs, and integrating with external data systems. You will take end-to-end ownership of projects, ensuring the robustness and scalability of our infrastructure
You will join a passionate and dedicated small team, solving challenging problems in data engineering and creating a product that developers will use worldwide

Our take

Event-driven architecture that lets businesses detect and act on "events" such as transactions or site visits, is invaluable in terms of agility and scalability. That said, the maintenance and administration of such systems pose significant challenges - with legacy tools taking months of time and dedicated teams to employ.

Introducing Glassflow, a Berlin-based startup that aims to simplify and enhance the event-driven data pipeline development process. It offers an adaptable solution that scales automatically to meet the performance needs of pipelines, delivering a bottom-up approach that marks a departure from the traditional top-down solutions.
