What the job involves

  • As a member of the team, you will build scalable solutions that improve customer-facing teams’ ability to provide great service to our customers, to communicate the value our company brings, and to advise customers on matters related to the healthcare of their employees. You will help our company become an indispensable partner to our customers
  • As a Senior Software Engineer, your mission is to drive impactful projects for the Customer Experience team, from gathering requirements to shipping and iterating. You’ll lead team execution by combining your high technical output with project management and peer influence to make the team successful
  • You’ll build strong opinions that causally help the team achieve its mission.You’ll also mentor team members and consistently make the team better
  • Achieve team and business impact through high personal output
  • Prioritize and scope engineering effort according to expected business value, effectively communicating with teammates and stakeholders
  • Lead project execution by managing epics/stories, providing clarity to the business on delivery timing, and acting as an owner of overall project success
  • Design, implement, test, and operate systems with exemplary engineering fundamentals that make appropriate tradeoffs
  • Engage in cross-team and cross-functional efforts to ensure timely, successful delivery against team OKRs
  • Mentor engineers, improving their technical and non-technical skills to maximize their impact
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure our service is running 24/7

The negative healthcare experiences faced by these marginalised groups means they often avoid care at a rate that is around 3x greater than the border US population, putting their health at risk.

With healthcare still fragmented and focused on one-size-fits-all solutions, Included Health is disrupting the market by using technology to match patients quickly with the best care, no matter where they live. It currently counts retail behemoths Walmart and Home Depot as customers.

Previously served as a Senior Consultant at Accenture before joining eBay as the Manager and Founder of User Behaviour Intelligence in 2004. Co-founded Reputation.com in 2006, and served as its COO from 2008 to 2012. Was an Advisor at Pathbrite and Life360.

Studied Medicine at Ohio State, Johns Hopkins and Stanford. Was Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins from 2000 to 2005, and is now Professor of Interventional Radiology at Stanford. Co-founded Grand Rounds, rebranded to Included Health, in 2012. Is Medical Director at Stanford Health Care.
