Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business with an emphasis in accounting is required
- Large accounting firm and/or industry experience preferred
- Must be detail oriented and highly skilled with large volumes of financial data
- Must be highly skilled in use of Excel
- Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with internal and external clients
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize workload
What the job involves
- Support daily and monthly accounting functions to ensure they are accurate and processed
- Provide accounting support for corporate transactions; prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements
- Prepare and present analysis of assigned areas to management, including explanation of account fluctuations and unusual transactions
- Analyzing current procedures to recommend changes and help create efficiencies
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching, analyzing, and interpreting data, using spreadsheets and business data tools
- Prepare internal and external financial reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments
- Support month, quarter, and year-end close processes
- Support and provide supporting documentation to external auditors
- The Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager
