Who you are
- Experience managing multi-region or multi-segment email and CRM campaigns
- Technical capability using HTML, CSS, AMPscript, and SQL for dynamic content creation
- Solid understanding of data ingestion, file imports, and audience segmentation rules
- Demonstrated ability to run end-to-end campaign QA, resolve automation issues, and evaluate delivery metrics
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to manage competing deadlines and translate technical requirements clearly

What the job involves
- As the Marketing Automation Specialist, you will join Xero's Customer Engagement team to design, build, test, schedule, deploy, and report on global and regional communications using a modern marketing tech stack
- You will be hands-on in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), ensuring campaigns reliably reach small business users worldwide to help make running their businesses seamless
- A key part of this position involves driving operational efficiency across the team
- You will play a vital role in lifting delivery maturity by refining reusable email templates, documenting clear processes, sharing technical insights, and partnering with regional marketers on their quarterly communication plans
- You will join a high-performing Global Customer Engagement team that works in close partnership with Regional Marketing, Product Marketing, and Data & Insights specialists
- The team operates with a focus on peer collaboration, shared learning, and thorough QA to streamline workflows across all regions
- Together, they combine technical execution with commercial insights to build meaningful, tailored experiences for our audience
- Initially, you will focus on:
- Hands-on campaign creation and deployment using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and in-product messaging tools
- Building dynamic, personalized content using HTML, AMPscript, and SQL
- Managing end-to-end campaign QA, audience segmentation logic, and data troubleshooting
- Standardizing build patterns, updating team documentation, and delivering operational sends
