Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, education, or a related field. Master’s preferred
- 5+ years of experience in program management, education, or customer engagement roles, ideally in the software or engineering sectors
- Familiarity with engineering software tools (e.g., CAD, CAE) is a strong plus
- A self-starter with exceptional attention to detail
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience developing curriculum or instructional materials is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Passion for education and advancing the engineering profession
- Ability/ excitement to travel to our headquarters and universities (10% travel)
What the job involves
- NTop is seeking a driven and execution-focused Academic Program Manager to promote the adoption and growth of nTop and computational design within the academic community. This pivotal role focuses on building strong partnerships with academic institutions and promoting our innovative programs globally.
- In this role, you will develop and execute strategies to expand our presence in academic institutions and training programs. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, academic partners, and industry stakeholders to drive the adoption of our software in education and research.
- As an Academic Program Manager, you will be able to shape the future of engineering by equipping students, educators, and researchers with cutting-edge tools during their formative academic and early career stages—helping ensure nTop becomes a cornerstone of their professional journey
- This role can be either remote or based in our New York office, and reports to the Director, Product Support
- Develop and Execute Academic Strategies: Design and implement strategies to expand nTop’s presence in academic institutions and training programs worldwide
- Technical Support & Guidance: Provide technical guidance to students using nTop for projects, competitions, and research
- Create Content: Create training course content and other educational and promotional materials
- Build Partnerships: Establish and nurture relationships with universities, colleges, research institutions, and training organizations to promote adopting nTop's solutions
- Program Promotion and Outreach: Drive awareness and engagement for nTop’s academic initiatives through targeted campaigns, events, and direct stakeholder outreach
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including marketing, sales, product, and engineering, to provide feedback on features and tools, align academic programs with business goals, and ensure seamless resource delivery
- Organize Events: Organize workshops, webinars, and other events to showcase the application of our software in engineering education
- Advocate for Academic Users: Act as the voice of educators, students, and researchers within nTop, advocating for features and programs that meet their unique needs
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to program adoption, engagement, and satisfaction. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve impact
- Stay current: Stay informed about engineering education and technology trends to improve the program continuously
Our take
Until recently, most products and parts have been designed in a handful of CAD systems, with underlying technology that has remained relatively constant for decades. Existing CAD software is restrictive in terms of its structural complexity, and ultimately represents a bottleneck for the industry.
nTop develops design software that uses mathematical computations, GPU acceleration, and other cutting-edge technologies to create a user-friendly 3D design experience. The GPU acceleration functionality allows for advanced engineering changes to be realized in real-time, something that would take long rendering periods on traditional CAD software.
The company has an impressive number of clients, including big names like Ford, Lockheed Martin and Honeywell. It has also raised considerable funding that supports its further development and the addition of new features for its software.
