Since being founded by a trio of Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) professors and engineers in 2010, OpenNebula Systems has grown into a major name in the open-source tech space, now operating out of the US as well as its HQ in Spain.
OpenNebula helps enterprises manage data centres, build enterprise clouds, and create multi-provider hybrid data environments. The company’s list of customers across a range of industries is impressive, including Wells Fargo, Nasdaq Dubai, Booking.com, the BBC and US Army.
Now that its reputation is well-established, the company has begun focusing heavily on research and development. With the support of the European Commission, OpenNebula Systems is working in close quarters with the European Union on a number of projects, including IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest).
