Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience with major third-party cloud infrastructure and container orchestration: some flavor of Kubernetes, AWS, and EKS preferred
- 5+ years of experience handling application support in production (including on-call)
- 3+ years of Python, Go, or similar experience
- 3+ years of experience with Terraform, ideally in AWS
- 3+ years of experience with GitLab/Github, ArgoCD and Helm/Kustomize
- Prior startup experience – it would be difficult for this to be your first startup
- A love for all things automation and a touch-it-once attitude
- An understanding that infrastructure is only as good as it is reliable, observable, and secure. Those characteristics are foundational to everything you create
- A self-starting attitude: you look for problems to solve rather than waiting to be told where to look or what to do
Desirable
- A degree in an engineering-related field (math, CS, engineering, physics)
- Healthcare experience (or experience in another highly regulated industry, such as fintech; direct experience with HIPAA/HITRUST audits is a strong plus)
- Familiarity with Cloudflare’s edge stack or/and Ambassador/Envoy would be a plus
- Familiarity with Datadog is a plus; however, experience with a similar observability/monitoring tool (e.g. OpenTelemetry, Prometheus) and something to display the data (e.g. Grafana) is still relevant
- Experience with information security considerations in the cloud, particularly in a zero-trust environment
What the job involves
- The Senior Cloud Engineer will help create and maintain our infrastructure, which is hosted on AWS and Cloudflare
- Build and maintain deployment pipelines and release automation tooling, work hand in hand with multiple platform and application development teams to test new ideas and projects
- Assist developers with questions about the AWS infrastructure; deliver on IAM needs; identify and remediate security concerns; and help solve our current and future scaling and performance challenges, including designing entirely new iterations of our platform
- You will be trusted with a high degree of autonomy: teamwork and collaboration are fundamental to our ability to solve problems and accomplish our goals
Our take
Healthcare is a big business. In the U.S, it represents nearly 20% of GDP. Despite its immense value, the system is complex and many of the technologies are antiquated. That means hundreds of billions of dollars of administrative spending being wasted.
Rialtic attempts to recuperate some of these wasted dollars for healthcare insurers and providers. The startup’s flagship product is a payment accuracy product which brings programs in-house and helps health insurance companies gain total control over processes that have been managed by disparate and misaligned vendors.
Crucial to this service is the constant ingesting and structuring of healthcare payment policy documents and data. Rialtic is now seeking growth through additional products that can leverage this data to improve overall healthcare services as well. The company's 2024 Series B round has achieved its $50 million funding goal, which is sure to help propel it forward.
