Who you are
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive field marketing experience within the B2B enterprise technology sector, with a deep, demonstrable focus on the DACH Public Sector market
- Education: BA or BS in Marketing or a related field; an MBA is preferred
- Strategic Acumen: A strategic and innovative mindset with the proven ability to translate high-level business goals into a concrete, executable marketing plan that delivers measurable results
- Marketing Mastery: Expertise in the full marketing mix, with a track record of leading complex, multi-touch campaigns that integrate digital, event, and partner marketing tactics
- Influential Leadership: Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills, with a track record of building strong, trusted relationships and gaining alignment with senior sales and executive stakeholders
- Data Proficiency: A profound understanding of data-driven marketing, highly proficient in using marketing automation (e.g., Marketo) and CRM (e.g., Salesforce) to manage campaigns, analyze data, and report on performance
- Project Management: An expert in project and budget management, with the ability to lead multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
- Personal Attributes: A proactive, self-starting mentality combined with a collaborative, team-oriented spirit. You are seen as an authority in your area and a go-to resource for your peers
- Language Skills: Business fluency in both German and English is essential
What the job involves
- We're seeking a seasoned and strategic Public Sector Marketing Manager to join our collaborative and dynamic global team
- In this role, you'll architect and execute the go-to-market strategy for SUSE’s Public Sector, Defense, and Critical Infrastructure segments across the DACH region
- You'll act as a key business partner to sales leadership, leveraging your deep industry knowledge to build significant pipeline, drive revenue, and solidify our position as a leading open-source innovator for government and public entities
- This position offers an opportunity to own a critical market segment, influence regional strategy, and deliver high-impact results
- Architect Regional Strategy: Translate SUSE's global objectives and DACH sales targets into a sophisticated, multi-channel marketing plan that establishes SUSE as a thought leader and drives demand within the public sector
- You will anticipate market shifts and proactively adapt your strategy to capitalize on emerging opportunities
- Drive High-Impact Execution: Command the end-to-end planning and execution of a complex portfolio of marketing programs
- This includes a strategic mix of digital campaigns, account-based marketing (ABM), executive-level events, content syndication, and social engagement to achieve and exceed pipeline targets
- Influence Key Stakeholders: Serve as the primary marketing business partner to the DACH Public Sector sales leadership
- You'll use data and insights to influence sales strategy, ensure tight alignment between marketing investments and revenue goals, and build consensus with senior leaders
- Master the Partner Ecosystem: Forge and nurture strategic alliances with key ecosystem partners, including resellers, distributors, ISVs, and hyperscalers
- You will co-create and execute high-impact, joint demand generation programs to amplify our reach and market penetration
- Manage Data-Driven Performance: Take full ownership of the DACH public sector marketing budget and KPIs
- You will meticulously measure campaign performance, deliver insightful reports to leadership, and use analytics to continuously optimize for efficiency and impact
- Champion Innovation: Challenge conventional approaches by identifying and piloting innovative marketing tactics tailored to the unique procurement cycles of the public sector
- You will be a source of new ideas and best practices for the broader EMEA marketing team
