Who you are
- 6+ years of product management experience, with a track record of delivering in a B2B or enterprise SaaS environment
- Experience in fintech, compliance, or a regulated industry — you understand the stakes of building verification products for financial institutions where accuracy, reliability, and trust are non-negotiable
- Strong cross-functional instincts — you know how to align Engineering, Legal, Ops, and Sales toward shared outcomes without formal authority
- A customer-obsessed mindset, with the ability to synthesize complex enterprise requirements into clear, prioritized roadmaps
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence influencing at all levels — from engineering sprint planning to executive stakeholder conversations
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes
What the job involves
- This role reports to Ethan Winchell, Head of Truework, and serves as the dedicated product owner for Truework's largest and most strategic customers — mortgage lenders and financial institutions whose needs require focused product attention and solutions that scale without sacrificing reliability or trust to serve millions of borrowers across America
- You will work alongside a Senior Product Lead owning Truework's core verification platform
- This role sits at the heart of Truework's growth strategy, requiring tight alignment across Sales, Customer Success, Partnerships, Legal, and Engineering to deliver verification experiences that meet the exacting standards of enterprise financial services clients
- Own the product roadmap for Truework's enterprise customer segment, translating the complex and evolving needs of large lenders and financial institutions into scalable product solutions
- Build and maintain deep relationships with enterprise customers, serving as the product voice in strategic conversations alongside Sales and Customer Success
- Partner with Engineering and Design to define, prioritize, and ship features that meet enterprise requirements
- Define and track enterprise-specific KPIs — including adoption, retention, and verification performance — and use data to drive prioritization decisions
- Represent the enterprise customer perspective internally, influencing platform investments, partnerships strategy, and ensuring the core verification infrastructure supports enterprise-grade scale and trust
Our take
Checkr addresses the unpleasant and time consuming process of background checks so that companies using on-demand employees can make safer, more informed hiring decisions in less time. Background checks are a critical part of the hiring process, and CEO Daniel Yannisse noticed that they were painfully slow, resulting in loss of work for candidates and productivity downturns for employers.
Before Checkr entered the market in 2014 with its innovative AI technology and a solid $50m in venture capital funding, companies were waiting upwards of two weeks for their checks. Checkr substantially reduces this time frame and has grown to receive a $5 billion valuation.
Checkr has accelerated growth by making several highly advantageous acquisitions of competitor companies GoodHire and Inflection. As the world of work embraces diversity and inclusion, the company announced an end-to-end service for candidates wishing to expunge their criminal records, furthering the company’s ‘fair chance’ mission and clearing 1000s of candidates for free since 2021. New products launched at the end of 2023 include Checkr Pay (providing access to payment right after a shift) and Checkr Onboard (unified onboarding processes), exemplifying how Checkr is keeping pace with a rapidly changing, flexible, and mobile-first workforce.
