Who you are

Qualification to practice law in your local jurisdiction
5+ years of experience handing contract negotiations. Experience negotiating outbound SaaS contracts is a must.
Ability to handle data protection topics and revenue recognition issues in connection with commercial contracts.
Passion for understanding our customers, products, culture, and business model.
Excellent business judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly with a variety of teams.
Ability to handle competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Willingness to handle new areas of responsibility.

What the job involves

As a member of this team, you will draft and negotiate a variety of agreements with Atlassian’s enterprise customers and work closely with the sales team to get deals done. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and support strategic transactions for Atlassian
Become a member of our growing team of individuals on our Legal team supporting Atlassian’s go-to-market commercial team.
Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on contract-related issues. We’re not looking for academic analysis!
Partner with our Sales team, as well as our Privacy, Trust, Finance and Product teams, to drive customer deals to execution and design scalable processes for implementation.
Negotiate enterprise cloud and license agreements for Atlassian’s products and services.
Develop support materials and provide trainings to educate our sales teams on contract terms and other legal issues.
Assist with special projects as needed, including projects focused on improving legal processes.

Atlassian creates software products for developers and project managers to help teams work together more efficiently. Since its founding in 2002, the global company has built up a strong suite of high-performing products including Jira, Trello, and Confluence.

Whilst their focus has predominantly been on software team management, products like Trello mark a shift in strategy for Atlassian, who intend to expand their coverage to other sectors. It is a smart move: with companies increasingly operating globally, the ability to coordinate projects from a common hub is more useful than ever. This is further compounded by the shift to remote workforces over the early 2020s.

Atlassian plans to further enhance the user experience of its products by minimizing friction in its connecting apps, meaning that product integration will be easier for its customers. Atlassian continues to perform strongly financially, and with its products playing a key role in two major fields - Agile and DevOps - they look set to remain an integral and successful market leader as the industry develops.
