Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communication, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with curriculum development, training development, training and educational tools and materials development
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the software or technology industry
- Proven ability to create clear, concise, and well-structured documentation for complex technical topics
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with documentation tools and software (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence) is a plus
- Familiarity with AI and ML concepts and technologies, or a strong interest in learning about them
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
What the job involves
- We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Writer to join our team
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating comprehensive technical documentation, developing manuals, and producing PowerPoint presentations
- This role requires the ability to synthesize complex technical information and translate it into clear and concise prose for diverse audiences
- Additionally, experience or interest in AI and ML software and hardware is highly desirable
- This is a contract role based out of Austin, TX, Santa Clara, CA, or Toronto, ON on a hybrid schedule
- Develop, write, and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, system guides, and technical specifications
- Create engaging and informative PowerPoint presentations to support internal and external communications
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and understand technical concepts
- Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accurate content that is easily understood by various audiences
- Develop training materials and curriculum to support product education and user adoption
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in AI and ML, to ensure documentation remains relevant and accurate
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation processes and standards

Our take
Advances in artificial intelligence apps, combined with a global chip shortage, are strong tailwinds for chip processor Tenstorrent. The semi-conducter developer is designing specialized chips for running artificial intelligence applications, building chips for what it calls "software 2.0".
The company’s unique approach is to build for this future software, which it believes will be written at a higher level. Combining this with conditional computing, Tenstorrent supports a scalable distributed network approach that is analogous to a human brain.
While the market for specialised AI hardware is destined to be gigantic, the company has to compete with a plethora of hopeful startups (as well as major tech companies like NVIDIA and Qualcomm). That said, Tenstorrent boasts an excellent trajectory so far, with its latest moves including unveiling its high-end Wormhole AI processors, and a partnership with LG which will see the development of chips for "Affectionate Intelligence".
