Who you are
- Good communication skills - we are constantly communicating in very technical language to each other one minute and in layman’s terms to non-technical people the next
- Experience working with a multi-disciplinary engineering team - we’re constantly looking for that perfect balance between implementing the perfect solution and a practical solution
- Demonstrable UX/UI/IA skills - this is a cross-functional design role which will favour those who have a breadth of skills
- Experience carrying out user research - we’re constantly planning, conducting, analysing and collaborating findings in order to feed back into the design process
- Preferred: Experience working with graphing/charting and data-intensive interfaces (such as digital financial technology products)
What the job involves
- Building a comprehensive understanding of our customer
- Running discovery and leading user research
- Making strategic design decisions for the product
- Sketching and concepting
- Workshopping solutions with the team
- Prototyping and validating solutions
- Representing the voice of the customer
- Crafting production-ready designs
- Managing the assets, libraries and story-books

- Design task (time-boxed to 1 hour, 3 days to return it to us)
- Final interview with Senior Management (45 mins)

In recent years, a growing global focus on achieving net-zero carbon emissions has caused a boom in the so-called 'voluntary carbon market'. Broadly, this is where private investors, governments, non-governmental organizations and businesses voluntarily purchase carbon offsets with a view to reducing their overall emissions. Founded in 2020, BeZero's aim is to scale one of the leading climate solutions so that the allocation of capital ends up in the projects that deliver the highest quality climate action.
The company provides data and analytics systems that help participants in the market understand voluntary carbon credits and thereby help them make better decisions as a result. BeZero takes a research-first mindset, fusing traditional capital markets research practices with expertise in environmental sciences and technology.
In terms of timing, it is difficult to think of a better time in which BeZero could have entered the market. Developments such as the carbon goals set out at COP26 show that the world is really looking for innovative climate solutions. If BeZero can help the voluntary carbon market to be one of these, and with expectations that the market could grow anywhere between $30bn to $100bn in the next 10 years, the company could be well set to secure its own growth and help the environment at the same time.
