Finance & Accounting Manager, The Orchard

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years of relevant experience. CPA is a plus
• Strong Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, vlookups, xlookups, SUMIFS, etc.)
• Must be detail oriented with an ability to work independently, self-starter, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• A clear and effective communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners and senior management
• Self-starter with organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Desirable

• Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, the Manager of Finance and Accounting
• Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Finance to develop and present key balance sheet reconciliations to the VP and CFO that help facilitate decision making and ensures accurate reporting
• Prepare and distribute the insolvent reserve schedule, a key analysis that helps assess the financial health of our deals with labels and artists
• Effectively own and operate the recoupable expense process which includes extracting data from SAP, liaising with the Royalties team to address issues, and implementing overall process improvements
• Routinely liaise with the frontline Sony Music labels and international affiliates to ensure timely transfers of label expenses to and from the Orchard for client statement reporting
• Accurately review and post journal entries prepared by our offshore accounting team which relate to label expenses and intercompany service fees
• Accurately prepare journal entries related to new business initiatives, label expenses, advance recoupment, and royalty adjustments
• Create and approve POs to support new business initiatives and intercompany transactions
• Participate in multiple finance integration projects from inception to implementation, including testing, note-taking, brainstorming, and designing solutions that drive efficiency, scalability, and business impact
• Efficiently prepare ad-hoc finance and accounting reports for the various departments within The Orchard and also the greater Sony Music organization
