Who you are
- 3+ years experience in a client-facing role, such as recruitment, account management, or sales - ideally within a startup or high-growth environment.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills - you’re confident engaging with C-level leaders and can build their trust.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a proactive approach to solving problems and getting things done.
- Highly organised and comfortable managing a busy pipeline, while maintaining high standards.
- A genuine interest in startups and supporting early-stage businesses to grow and succeed.
What the job involves
- As a Startup Account Manager at Connectd, you'll support startup founders to solve their most critical business challenges by helping them connect with top-tier advisors and fractional talent from Connectd’s talent network
- You’ll collaborate with founders to shape well-scoped, compelling listings and use Connectd’s platform tools to identify the most suitable candidates. Once the right profiles are found, you’ll facilitate warm introductions and align all sides on expectations. After the placement, you’ll remain the founder’s key contact - supporting further talent searches and ensuring ongoing success
- This is a fast-paced, hands-on role with real impact, ideal for someone who loves startups, relationship-building, and making great matches happen. Key responsibilities:
- Manage a pipeline of startup customers, building strong relationships and understanding their strategic goals
- Proactively identify and match suitable advisors, fractional executives, or NEDs using the Connectd platform and your own judgement
- Own the end-to-end placement process: from founder brief, to candidate outreach and buy-in, to facilitating warm introductions
- Provide ongoing support to ensure successful engagement and continued value for founders
- Act as the internal voice of the startup team - sharing placement feedback and product insights with the wider business
- Represent Connectd professionally in all interactions, maintaining a high standard of communication and customer care
