Role
Who you are
- 4-year technical degree (or equivalent work experience)
- 2+ years of IT operations, systems administration, or related experience
- Experience in regulated industries such as wealth management, banking/payments, or healthcare
- Exposure to identity and access management, endpoint management, and SaaS administration
- Hands-on experience with Google Workspace, Okta/Auth0, AWS IAM, ZipSecurity, and JAMF
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC2 and ISO27001
- Experience collaborating with InfoSec & Compliance to define policy, manage risk, and remediate issues
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Comfort with ambiguity with ability to operate independently and proactively
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Bonus: Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity
- Bonus: Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) for task automation

What the job involves
- At Opto, the Platform team builds and maintains the systems that keep our company running smoothly behind the scenes. From core infrastructure to security and compliance, the team ensures that every employee has the tools, access, and support they need to do their best work
- We collaborate closely with Engineering, Compliance, and Finance to build the rails upon which we build our platform and operate our business
- Within this team, the IT Lead will own Opto’s internal IT environment, from workstations and office systems to identity and access management
- This is a hands-on, people-focused role where you’ll be the go-to partner for day-to-day IT needs, oversee onboarding and offboarding, administer internal software systems, and manage vendor relationships. You’ll play a key role in keeping employees productive, connected, and secure—while also shaping how IT evolves as Opto scales
- Provide IT support to enable connectivity and business operations between two offices and remote employees
- Set up and support workstations, office equipment, meeting rooms, and network infrastructure
- Maintain an accurate inventory and manage the full lifecycle of company devices
- Deploy and administer access to all internal software systems
- Manage vendor partnerships end-to-end, balancing cost, security, and contract terms
- Partner with finance to set budgets and conduct periodic vendor reviews
- Create and enforce IT policies in partnership with InfoSec and Compliance, in support of SOC2 and contractual obligations
- Operate and continuously improve employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Monitor and improve IT service delivery using data-driven metrics and feedback loops
- Prioritize effectively between day-to-day support and longer term goals

For investment advisors looking to put together strong portfolios for clients, private investments represent a vast and attractive section of the market. However, these assets remain underused, with advisors having on average only 0-4% of their wealth invested in them, due in part to restricted access and lack of appropriate resources. Opto Investments enables Registered Investment Advisors to “level up” their practices, by providing access and insight into the private investment market.
Traditionally, access to private investments has been restricted to those with large teams of specialists who are able to assess the market and fill out the too-often convoluted paperwork. Opto Investment supplies a platform which combines these processes, allowing RIAs to explore the private market landscape and turn insights into actionable investments. The process is managed from start to finish, incorporating client goals throughout, with the company leading advisors from sourcing and diligence to investor servicing and reporting.
Opto Investments has already partnered with over 80 Registered Investment Advisors, and it has raised huge amounts of funding. With recent new launches and strategic partnerships secured, Opto is ready to transform how advisors approach private investments.
