Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams, driving a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance
Python/Golang proficiency
Expertise in project and workload planning
Strong background in maintaining comprehensive documentation practices across complex technical components

Experience in leading infrastructure/operations teams
Experience in running blockchain nodes
Proficiency in containers and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or HashiCorp Nomad
Experience in infrastructure automation tools like Helm, Terraform, Ansible, and any continuous integration or delivery tools
Exposure to the administration of application servers, web servers, and databases
Experience working with public cloud providers (Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services)
System Design: Ability to engage in system architecture and design of new features
Data Operations Knowledge: Understanding of ETL processes for product analytics

What the job involves

Team Leadership: Oversee and manage the workload of an engineering team of 8 across key focus areas:
Platform for customers
Nodes & Infrastructure
Data Indexing
Quarterly Planning & Execution: Set and manage the team's quarterly goals, workload, and key performance indicators to achieve company objectives
People Management: Lead recruitment, onboarding, and talent development; conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews to foster growth and engagement
Incident Management: Drive incident resolution, post-mortems, and root cause analysis, ensuring consistent reliability
Documentation Oversight: Maintain and improve technical documentation across all components to ensure clarity and ease of knowledge sharing

Our take

Chainstack, a Web3 development company, builds platforms to help developers make better use of Web3 infrastructure, rather than building the infrastructure from scratch themselves. Chainstack is in essence, the “chain” between developers and blockchain, building a platform subscription for software engineers.

Chainstack’s platform capabilities are very versatile, allowing developers to use it for crypto, cybersecurity, and supernets. A cloud-based service, it has bolstered its expertise with the hiring of experienced industry specialist Jan-Jaap Jager as CEO.

Chainstack’s continued success will depend on the use by developers of its platform for non-crypto purposes. The ongoing instability of the cryptocurrency market means that other applications of Web3 and blockchain must take center stage.
