Our take
Pixion is a game developer specialising in competitive, play-to-earn multiplayer mobile games, that sets itself apart with a focus on games that can be enjoyed in short sessions - that the company calls "Lunchtime Esports".
Pixion's first title, 2022's Fableborne, combines base-building gameplay with RPG action. In line with the company's mission, it is designed not to demand too much of a user's time, so that it can be enjoyed over a lunch break or during travel, whilst still being interesting to play.
The play-to-earn aspect of Pixion's games enables players to obtain NFTs through both purchase and gameplay, with features built atop a blockchain-backed game economy. In answering the rising interest in play-to-earn mobile games, as well as solving a problem for gamers who don't have much time to donate to new titles, the company has captured early interest and will be intriguing to follow into the future.
