Staff Accountant, Warby Parker

• Warby Parker is on the lookout for a skilled Staff Accountant to join the Accounting team and help us manage reporting and documentation, own close tasks, support financial audits, and more
• In this role, you’ll also help achieve the department’s goals by assisting with our month-end close and improving the efficiency of our processes
• Prepare journal entries and own essential account reconciliations for month-end close—accruals, prepaids, intercompany, other assets, and more—all while collaborating with a slew of teams across the organization
• Perform financial statement variance analysis, documenting meaningful explanations for fluctuations and identifying anomalies
• Review and analyze monthly expense activity and determine additional monthly accruals or required adjustments to journal entries
• Work closely with the team to aid in the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Support long-term accounting projects that will help automate processes and drive efficiencies in the month-end close to support the growth of our business
• Provide ad-hoc analysis for the Accounting team and senior management
• Support internal and external audit testing related to specific areas of responsibility
• Develop strong cross-functional relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders including the People, Legal, Marketing, A/P, FP&A, and Tax teams
