Who you are
- Practical product management experience as a PM or by driving product-focused projects in a dynamic startup or tech environment
- Passion for technology, finance and digital products
- Strong academic background with a degree in Management, Finance, Economics, Business Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical thinking, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to drive decisions
- Utmost attention to detail and a culture of excellence
- Excellent communication skills that are clear, concise, and targeted towards your audience - software engineer, stakeholder or executive
- A great understanding of and focus on customer problems and needs
- Hands-on mentality: from ideation and research to prototype and user story, you can handle it
- Excellent English communication skills (German is advantageous but not necessary)
- Great understanding of product management practices and incorporating diverse inputs (user research, data, market analysis) into product strategy
- Bonus Points: Experience with post-trade processes or securities transfers and a strong understanding of financial markets
What the job involves
- Shape the future of Scalable’s new fully vertically integrated investment and banking platform. Scalable’s Broker, digital Wealth Management and Credit offerings are seamlessly integrated into a newly developed technology platform
- We are looking for a passionate and motivated (Associate) Product Manager to own our settlement and custody capabilities
- You will play a crucial role in developing our platform, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of our business
- You will work alongside a highly motivated team of software engineers, product managers and academics implementing change in the financial industry
- Define, prioritize, and deliver the roadmap for our clearing, settlement and custody solutions, managing trade-offs to deliver innovative solutions to challenging problems
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and partners to build, launch, and iterate on impactful product initiatives
- Establish strong relationships with external partners, including settlement counterparties and CSDs
- Translate market research, quantitative data analysis, user and client feedback into a cohesive product vision, user stories, and intuitive user experiences

Interest around investing in digital assets is increasing steadily due to innovations in fintech smartphone applications and the popularity of blockchain finance such as cryptocurrency. While stocks and cryptocurrency have a lot to do with this increase in popularity, it has also led to new investors learning about ETFs and index funds, meaning more people are looking for easier ways to invest.
Scalable Capital provides a free smartphone application for the investing and trading of stocks, cryptocurrencies, commission-free ETFs, and index funds, with subscription fees providing commission-free stock trading. The application also features a machine learning-driven robotrading service called Smart Predict to aid in improving users' limit and stop orders.
Whilst several other European investment platforms focus on commission-free trading, Scalable Capital has taken a fresh perspective by focusing on providing commission-free ETF investment. By doing this, the company encourages smart long-term ETF investments over riskier day-trading, tapping into a more mature market than applications focused on stocks. With further growth expected in 2024 after impressive Series E funding, Scalable Capital is carving out its market share.
