Passionfruit matches businesses from seed stage startups to Fortune 500 companies with its network of freelance marketing professionals to help them scale without having to hire full time staff.
Unlike many of the biggest freelancing platforms such as Fiverr and Upwork, Passionfruit’s value differentiator is that it only accepts around 2% of freelance applicants onto its network to keep standards as high as possible.
The freelance workforce is growing at an unprecedented rate, as is the demand for short to medium term projects at startups. While this growth is not as high in the UK (where Passionfruit mainly operates) as it is in the US, Passionfruit's business works across both geographies. The remote nature of the startups business model suggests that there’s plenty of potential for the startup.
Though only founded in 2021, Passionfruit’s early stage performance has been very encouraging. The challenge going forward will be to keep its standards high while scaling its network of freelancers to meet demand.
