- There is a preference for experience within the Aviation or Airport industry
- Must have experience in building and scaling successful Commercial teams, with excellent client and customer relationship skills with a pedigree of exceeding and delivering against targets
What the job involves
- The EU Head of Commercial is responsible for the management and scaling of AeroCloud’s European commercial team and footprint across the European region
- Managing and leading the EU commercial team, working closely with the Senior Airport Engagement Partner and Airport Engagement officers on activity across the region
- Working closely with the Head of Commercial Operations and directly with the EU team to manage and allocate budgets, resources, where time and effort should be invested, working through new challenges facing the market and making projections on future growth and development
- Reporting on the activity of the EU commercial team on sales and conferences, assessing all aspects of the department in order to achieve improved results through prioritisation and resource allocation
- Safeguarding the growth and development of the business within the European commercial marketplace. They are often focused on new opportunities for airports across the region (past the proposal sent stage) and helping identify new commercial activities with support from the rest of the team
- Responsible for analysis, development and implementing top-level market and business strategies in Europe. From identifying new commercial opportunities, to developing a new distribution channel or helping to bid for a new client/project, this role requires a key player in these commercially important activities
- The EU Head of Commercial will also be in charge of reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Operations, CEO and future CRO in regards to new opportunities, current market performance and assisting the Head of Commercial Operations in decision making
- Overseeing of all territory team growth and expansion strategies, with hands-on tactical contribution to hiring. Working closely with the Head of Commercial Operations and Product leads in the planning and execution of growing their department and team
- Consistently working closely with the European Senior Airport Engagement partner, Head of Bids, and technical sales to ensure outcomes from the team are to the highest standard
- Policing use of best practice from our sales process documentation
- Deciding on which conferences to attend in Europe and working with conference partners on maximising opportunities to showcase our products
- Support in orchestrating conference game plans and execution through attendance or coaching of the European commercial team members
- Working with marketing, and further corporate services on aligning company strategy for the region
- Overseeing the research and planning of new opportunities across all product sets
- Daily pipeline analysis and setting strategic priorities having input on where commercial effort should be focused
- This leadership role comes with line management responsibility for the Senior Airport Engagement Partner for Europe as well as the Airport Engagement Officers. Responsibilities that include general line management, 1-1’s, performance reviews etc
- Working with the Head of Commercial Operations, CEO and future CRO on sales forecasting and sales targets for the entire European market
- To participate where needed in winning and closing deals, advising on all sales targets, and being available for the commercial hiring planning and process
- Be expected to attend closing calls both in person at airports in Europe and remotely also
- Building and scaling a high performing sales function through coaching, mentoring and strategic planning
