Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced investment manager to join our dynamic team
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
- 2-5 years experience working at a venture fund or blockchain startup
- Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and decentralized finance (DeFi)
- Prior experience in venture capital is a plus
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels
- Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
What the job involves
- You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities for our ecosystem investment initiative - lzCatalyst - working closely with our business development team to manage our investment pipeline, support builders in their fundraising endeavors, and grow our investor network
- Our team leaves egos at the door, works hard, has big ambitions, and is passionate about building the infrastructure operability layer of tomorrow

- Evaluate market trends and identify opportunities for new projects building on the LayerZero protocol
- Conduct in-depth industry research in partnership with LayerZero BD leads
- Develop market mappings for relevant web3 verticals, identifying promising builders driving innovation across the ecosystem
- Source, assess, and track new investment opportunities
- Manage inbound lzCatalyst applications, host introductory calls with builders and track fundraising progress
- Develop and maintain robust tracking mechanisms to drive in-depth program analytics and assess the health of our pipeline
- Conduct preliminary diligence & screening on potential investment opportunities, developing investment memos for tangible deals
- Support builders in their fundraising efforts, including narrative framing workshops, pitch deck feedback, data room development, and investor outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the ecosystem, fostering meaningful connections across our investor network
- Filter, organize, and distribute tailored investor dealflow outreach on a bi-weekly basis
- Engage LayerZero’s investor base to share pipeline and support external sourcing strategies

As the crypto ecosystem continues to evolve, the demand for high-throughput apps has been on the rise. However, the infrastructure required to meet this need has been in short supply as users, data, and liquidity have been fragmented across various apps on different chains.
Led by three co-founders that have a substantial history of founding multiple startups together, LayerZero Labs is solving this problem by providing an omnichain interoperability protocol that integrates decentralized applications (dApps).
The unicorn company has an impressive list of backers and tripled its $1B valuation from March 2022 to $3B in April 2023. Its latest funding is being invested in hiring and expansion, particularly across the Asia-Pacific region. Its range of app innovation opportunities that have arisen from its work has LayerZero Labs well set to build on its path of success.
